Swimming Gala

On Saturday evening a team of swimmers took part in the St Albans Primary School Swimming Gala.  We were in the large school competition with 7 other schools.  The event included 3 individual races of breaststroke, backstroke and front crawl for boys and girls and then 2 relay races. The relay races were; a medley of breaststroke, backstroke and front crawl and a freestyle relay, again for boys and girls.
It was a very exciting event with many close results, and even one or two races having to be rerun!
We did really well with Lucas coming first in his individual event of backstroke and the boys coming first in their freestyle relay.   Over all the boy's team came joint first and the girl's team came fourth.  It was a great night of swimming which all the children enjoyed.
