Sportshall Athletics (Level 2)

                                    CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!

On Tuesday 10 boys and 10 girls from year 6 took part in the first round of the Primary Sportshall Athletics.  There were 15 schools taking part over two evenings, competing in a series of field events and relay races.  It was a fantastic atmosphere with lots of excitement.  During the evening it was very difficult to work out whether we had got through so we had to wait until the following day to find out that we had made it through to the second round.  A huge congratulations to the children who took part.
The second round is on Thursday 3rd March.

On Monday, Garden Fields returned to Bernards Heath. We played a league match and a friendly.  The league match was competitive and the possession was very even but Garden Fields eventually won 4-0. The friendly match was again a great match and Bernards Heath won with a final score
of 4 -3. Well done girls!
Miss Brown would like to thank the Garden Fields coach and Mrs Astley for covering while she was at a High Five Tournament with Yr 5.

Football match v Praewood

On Thursday the B team played a league game against Praewood.  The boys played really well on a very muddy pitch and were the strongest team. After a slow start we gained more confidence and started passing the ball better allowing the forwards more opportunities on goal.  Our defence were excellent leaving Freddie in goal with not much to do.  The final score was 5-0 to us.

Football match v Fleetville

On Tuesday the A team played a league game against Fleetville.  It was a hard fought game on a very cold evening.  The game was incredibly close and we had quite a few good chances on goal.  Unfortunately we were not able to score.  Despite our hard work Fleetville took one of their few chances and scored.  The result was 1-0 to Fleetville, but the boys can be very proud of themselves.

Football match v St Peters

On Thursday the A team played St Peters in the St Albans City Cup.  The boys were fantastic and played with a fighting spirit and as a team.  Very quickly in the first half we scored 2 goals and then a 3rd later on.  In the second half we didn't let up and had quite a few shots on goal, managing to score the fourth.  Well done to all the team who deserved the win.  We now go through to the quarter- finals.
