Girls Football B Team Friendly

Today, our Girls B team played against Killigrew in a friendly match. All the girls were excited to play, whilst a little nervous as this was their first match representing the school for football.

The game started quickly and the girls really showed off their skills in an end to end first half were we had a couple of opportunities but survived a scare where Killigrew hot the post. In the second half, Killigrew started the quicker and after 4 minutes had scored twice. The girls didn't let their heads drop but instead push on to try and score themselves. After a string of sustained pressure, Emily managed to score a great goal just as the rain stopped and a rainbow appeared. the girls took this as a sign and pushed for the equaliser. another chance came but unfortunately for us a brave Killigrew defender got a last ditch block in to save their goal. As the rainbow faded so did our time to score the leveller and at full time the score was 2-1 to Killigrew.

The girls played excellently and in a great spirit and I have to say how proud I was off all of them and the confidence they have gained at football club this year.
