A group of Year 4 children lead by 2 Year 5s attended the School World Games Day at Oaklands College. The day was themed around the Rio Olympics and the children took part in a number of different Olympic activities ranging from Hockey and Rugby to Rhythmic Gymnastics and Rowing. Also at lunchtime, the children enjoyed the entertainment of a sheep race. All the children had a great time and very much enjoyed the day.

School Games Day

Well, the weather was eventually kind to us and our School Games Day took place on Monday.  In the morning year 6 and year 5, followed by year 4 and year 3 held their sprint races and their relay races which included; racket and ball relay, dressing up relay and obstacle relay as well as the house group relay. The year 6 Sports Ambassadors did a fantastic job organising all the relay races so that the event ran very smoothly. All the children had an opportunity to race and everyone had lots of fun earning lots of points for their house group.
Then in the afternoon we moved onto the multi-sport carousel. The children took part in their house groups earnnig points for completing various activities.  We were very impressed with the leadership of the year 6 and the team spirit of each group.
At the end of the afternoon, after all the points had been added up we finally had a School Games Day winner.
Congratulations to Emerald, 2016 winners.
Thank you to all the parents who came along to support their children and to Mr Hill who ran one of the activities.
