Hockey Tournament

On Tuesday eighteen year 6 girls and boys spent a fantastic day taking part in the Level 2 Quicksticks Competition at Oaklands College. The three teams were each in a separate pool and over the morning played eight games.  The games were seven minutes long, with 4 players on each team, one of whom had to be a girl. There was no goal keeper.
 All the teams played brilliantly and did very well in their respective pools.  The children had the opportunity to manage themselves, deciding who should play, positions and when to substitute. This was done really well and demonstrated an excellent team spirit.
At the end of the first round our teams came 4th, 6th and 1st.   The team that won their pool then went in to the quarter finals where they beat Fleetville, followed by a semi final against Park Street.  This was a very close game, but unfortunately we lost 2-1.
All the children can be very proud of themselves.
