Penalty Shoot Out Final

On Saturday afternoon the football team took part in the final of the Penalty Shoot Out against Killigrew.  As usual this took part at St Albans City's football ground in Clarence Park.  The boys were a guard of honour for the 2 teams when they ran on to he pitch and then enjoyed watching the first half of the game.  During the half time boys took part in their penalty shoot out on the pitch.  It is very nerve wracking taking penalties so the boys did very well keeping their composure.  It was very close and had to be decided on a sudden death penalty which Killigrew won, final score 6- 5 to them.

It has been a very enjoyable competition and the boys did very well to reach the final after 3 rounds.
Thank you to all the parents who have come to support.

Year 5 Football Tournament Final

On Saturday our 5 Football team took part in the 6 a side tournament at Colney Heath Primary School.  There were 2 pools of 6 teams, so we had to play 5 games.  The games lasted just 10 minutes so the boys knew they needed to score quickly.  I was very proud of the way the boys played and their team spirit. From the 5 games we played the team won 3, drew 1 and lost 1, this meant they went through to the 3rd and 4th play offs.   In the final match against Maple, despite their very best efforts the boys were unable to score, loosing the game 1-0.
Remembering that from over 20 schools who entered the competition we came 4th, that is a very good result.
Thank you to all the parents who came and supported the team.

National Skipping Day

Today was National Skipping Day where children in schools all over the country took part in skipping activities.  Here, each year group had fun skipping for at least 20 minutes, trying out new skills or seeing how many skips they could complete.
Skipping is a brilliant way to keep fit and have fun so we hope the children will be enthused to keep skipping during play times.

Year 5 Football Tournament

On Wednesday the Year 5 football team took part in the first round of the annual Year 5 Football Tournament.  They had to play 3 games, each lasting 10 minutes, against Cunningham Hill, Camp and Park Street.  The boys were amazing and all played extremely well in every game.  We won this first round having won all our games, 3-0, 3-0, 3-0.
The team now goes through to the final on Saturday morning at Colney Heath.
Well done boys!
