Dance Club
We have a thriving Dance Club, run by Apex 360, at school. The children, from year 3 to year 6, meet every week and learn new moves and dances. Earlier this week they were very pleased to present to the rest of the school a routine they had all learnt. They should all be very proud and it went very well and we all enjoyed watching it.
Dance Club will continue next term.

Netball match against Maple.
Yesterday, Bernards Heath played another league match against Maple at home. After a strong start by both teams, Maple were 2 goals up at half time. Their defence was very strong and able to disrupt our usual play around the goal third. Both teams had to contend with quite a slippery court.
In the second half, Bernards Heath scored 2 goals early on but unfortunately Maple were able to secure a final score of 2-6 with long passes in to the Goal Shooter.
This is the final match before Christmas. Well played everyone.

First League Netball Match 2016
The Netball team played their first match on Monday 28th November against Garden Fields.
Both teams started well and the match was exciting to watch with both teams showing good passing skills. At half time the score was 2-1 to Garden Fields.
In the second half, Bernards Heath pulled back a goal to equalise but then went on to really contest every ball and were rewarded with another goal making the final score 3-2 to Bernards Heath.
This was a great start to the season and we have another home game against Maple on 5th December.
Well played also to the rest of the Netball Club that played a friendly match against the second Garden Fields team.

Wix Cup v Abbey
On Monday we played Abbey JMI in the Wix Cup competition. We started strongly and immediately put pressure on their defence but were unable to score. At the end of the first half it was still 0-0. In the second half we continued to play well with quite a few shots on goal saved by a very good Abbey goal keeper. Duirng the second half Abbey were able to score one of their few chances, which despite our efforts we were unable to match. The final score was 1-0 to Abbey.

Cross Country friendly at Garden Fields
On Thursday boys from year 3, 5 and 6 took part in a friendly cross country meet at Garden Fields. The boys had to run around the field two and a half times in their year groups. This was the first time many of the boys had run competitively and they did very well with some of the boys coming in the top three for year 3 and 6 races.
Penalty Shoot Out
On Saturday a group of boys took part in the second round of the St Albans Penalty Shoot Out at Clarence Park, home of St Albans Football Club. During the half time break the boys took penalties against Margaret Wix Junior School and vice versa. We took some great shots and saved quite a few. The final score was 7-4 to us. This means we now go through to the semi-final in March.
Football match v St Columbus
On Tuesday our A team played St Columbus in a league game. Although they scored very early on in the first half, it was a very close game and the boys battled hard to get a goal back just before the end on the half. In fading light we continued to do well with a few chances on goal, however they managed to score another very good goal which resulted in a 2-1 defeat.
Football match
On Monday our B team played Sandridge in a league game. We played with real confidence and all the boys showed great determination in winning the ball and then passing accuarately to another player. This positive play resulted in a fantastic win for us of 4-0.
Well done boys

Bernards Heath played in an under 11s basketball tournament
on the 17th of October and over all we won 2 matches, drew 2 matches
and lost 2 matches! Our first match we sadly lost 0-2 to Wheatfields B. After
that match, we played Gardenfields C and this time drew the match with a score
of 4-4 which we were very pleased about. Our 3rd match we lost once
again and the score finished on 2-4 to St Adrians. We drew again on the 4th
match with a final score of 2-2 with St John Fisher. Our first match we won was
6-0 to us and we were really happy that we beat Gardenfields A. The last match
was a good one again as we beat Fleetville B with a total score of 2-0.
Everyone on the team enjoyed the tournament very much and hopefully next time
we’ll win all the matches!

Bernards Heath played in the under 11s Basketball tournament.
We first played Wheatfield A and lost 4-0. After that we played Fleetville A
and again sadly lost 2-6. We had a two match break and played Bowmans green and
thankfully we won 6-4. Then we had a relaxing 5 match break. We finally had our
last match against The Grove and lost again 0-4. Although we lost more games
than we won, we all had lots of fun and were proud of our results as the grove
team were the overall winners.

Skipping Workshops
On Monday and Tuesday the whole school enjoyed taking part in Skipping Worshops. The children had fun learning new skipping skills and developing them, On Tuesday some of the children were able to show off what they had learnt to the rest of the school. It is great to see many of the children continuing to skip at breaktimes, it is such a good way to keep fit.

football league game
On Thursday the A team played Wheatfields A away. We started well and seemed the stronger side, but unfortunately they got a break and scored early on. With an injury to one of our defenders we had to swap around some of the players, but in true team spirit we carried on battling. In the second half Wheatfields came out strongly and scored two more goals. The game ended 3-0 to them.
