School Games Speed stacking
On Friday 8th May 16 children from year 4 went to Nicholas Breakspear School to take part in a Speed Stacking competition. The children were placed in two teams of boys and girls and had to stack the cups in a three, three, three formation and then a three, six, three formation both individually and as part of a team relay.
Penelope came second in one of the competitions and Leo came third. All the teams did well, tried their best in every event and cheered on one another.
A huge thank you to the kind parents who provided lifts to the children to and from the event.

School Games Tri Golf Festival
On Tuesday, 20 children from Year 4 participated in the Tri Golf Festival at Nicholas Breakspear School.
We entered two teams and narrowly missed out on 2nd place by just 6 points - effectively, just one putt over the whole afternoon.
Despite very difficult conditions with the wind, children competed really well and enjoyed themselves.
Thanks go to all the parents who assisted with giving lifts down to the school.

Level 2 School Games Quicksticks Competition
On Thursday 18 girls and boys from Year 6 attended the Level 2 School Games Quicksticks Competition. We entered 3 teams into different pools, and each team had to play 5 games.
Apart from playing the children were responsible for managing the teams themselves, deciding on substitions and supporting each other when they weren't playing. I was really impressed with the positive attitude of all the children and on how well they did through the day.
Although none of the teams went through to the semi-finals they finished 2nd, 3rd and 3rd in their pool games.
Thank you to the parents who helped with the lifts.

Year 5 Football Tournament
On Wednesday the Year 5 football team took part in the first round of the annual Year 5 Football Tournament. There were 4 teams in our round and it was the top 2 teams who qualified. We started well beating St Columbus, and then went on to beat both Margret Wix and Bowmans Green, which meant we went through to the next round as group winners.
Then on Saturday the boys attended the Tournament Finals at Colney Heath School. There were 12 teams there, divided up into 2 pools, which meant we had 5 short games to play. The boys played really well as a team and as we only had 6 players they had to play every game. However, they didn't lose any, drawing 4 and winning the final game. This earnt them enough points to come second in our group and a play off against Park Street for 3rd and 4th place. Even though the boys were really tired at this point they continued to battle hard, but even extra time couldn't separate the 2 teams, so it was decided that we would share 3rd place. A fantastic result for the boys...well done.
Thanks to parents for supporting...we can now look forward to a good season next year.
