Netball Club dates 2016
The netball club met today for the last time before Christmas. I would like to say to all the members - well done for this term and we will commence again on the 11th January 2016. Please be prepared for cold and wet weather so leggings, sweatshirts and hats would be advisable! Just a reminder - if you can't make a session, please let us know.
Hope you all have a wonderful holiday :)

Sainsbury's School Games Silver Award
We are delighted to announce that in September we were awarded the Sainsbury's School Games Silver Award for the second year running and last week were presented with a plaque and pennant.
The Sainsbury’s School Games Mark is now in its 4th year and continues to recognise schools for their commitment to and development of competition, school sport and physical education. There are 3 award levels BRONZE, SILVER and GOLD.
We are especially pleased with the continued development of our School Sports Crew, led by Mr Brown which has enabled year 6 children to create their own sporting programme, encouraging lots of different children to take part in new activities.
We might even go for gold next year!

Triathlon Fun Day
Today we were really lucky to welcome the British Triathlon Foundation Trust to our school. They started the day with an assembly explaining to the children about the Space to Earth Challenge which coincides with Tim Peake, a British astronaut, joining the International Space Station in December 2015.
The children learned that he will have to do 2 hours of exercise every day to maintain his fitness. To link in the exercise the Triathlon team set the children a challenge of together, completing 400km on the bikes or running. Each class had 15 minutes of exercise and at the end of the day the totals were added up ...and we had completed an amazing 700km. Well done everyone.
The children all really enjoyed taking part and we will be watching Tim take off into space in December.
