On Monday 8th June, 10 children from Yr 5 and 6 went to Fleetville School to play their first cricket match.
Jake, our captain, won the toss and so we chose to field first. Our fielding was very strong, especially our bowling. We took 5 wickets in total too. However they had a strong side with one strong batsman in particular, so we knew we were going to have to work hard batting to beat their score of 103 runs.
All of the children batted well and scored a good number of 4s and 6s, as well as making up some single runs. Unfortunately it wasn't enough and we were unable to beat Fleetville's score.

However we didn't mind. We all really enjoyed ourselves and saw it as a good learning opportunity before our tournament on Wednesday 1st July.
