Cross Country
On Wednesday our Cross Country team took part in a meet at St Columbus. The course was quite tricky with quite a long up hill stretch the children had to run round twice. The girls went first and all ran very well with Alice coming in 7th. Then boys went with a very fast start. Again our boys did well in a large field of runners.

Football match v Sandridge
On Tuesday our B team played away at Sandridge. Sandridge came out very strong and attacked us from the start. They very quickly scored their first goal, then went on to score a second. Although we worked hard to move the ball forward they had a very good defence who we were unable to get past. Before the end of the second half Sandridge had scored a third.
In the second half we played much better ,but were still unable to score. However, we made sure they didn't score either and the result remained at 3-0.
This was our last league game from what has been a very successful season for the team. They have played brilliantly and won most of their games. I am really proud of them and wish them well for their football in the future.
Thank you to all the parents who have helped with lifts, supported the team from the side lines and washed kit!!

Netball Match Maple away 2017
Bernards Heath will be taking a team to Maple on the 13th March 2017 for our last league game of the season. There will be no club on that Monday and our last club night will be the 20th March.

Tag Rugby Festival
On the 6th of March the yearly tag rugby festival, run by Saracens, was held at St Albans Rugby Club. All the competition was of a friendly nature due to a new directive from the RFU to play for enjoyment and improve the children's basic skills rather than a focus on winning.
We took 3 teams (2 Year 6 teams and 1 Year 5 team) to the tournament and all the children had lots of fun, scoring many tries in the process. Below are some photos of the teams.
A big thank you must go to Mr and Mrs White who helped us arrive in style after offering us a coach for transport to the event. Also, Thank you to Mr Watson for coaching the team 1.

Girls City Cup Second Round
On Tuesday the girls played their 2nd round match vs Fleetville. The standard of play was excellent throughout. However, as the first half continued Fleetville had more and more of the ball and eventually scored 2 very good goals.
At half time our girls were not disheartened and were determined to fight back in the second half which they very much did. in the second half, we had more and more of the ball and pulled one goal back with Sophia scoring an excellent strike. Unfortunately, we could not breech their defences again and the game ended 2 - 1 to Fleetville who will now progress to the next round.
The girls were proud of how they played however as we pushed an undefeated team all the way in a close match.

Netball match away to Abbey. 3.3.2017
This afternoon, Bernards Heath travelled to Abbey having won at home earlier in the season. Unfortunately one of the players was unwell so Bella Vieyra stepped in at the last moment.
Bernards Heath took the lead very quickly with accurate passing and shooting. Izzy Truran and Amy Harrison were effective in and around the shooting circle. In defence, 2 players went down heavily on the extremely slippery court, but bravely carried on to make Abbey work hard to get the ball in to their shooters.This match went from end to end, all players showing great determination and managing to stay upright!
The half time score was 4-3 to Bernards Heath and the final score was 6 - 6. An amazing amount of goals from two evenly matched teams. Well done girls!

A team league game
On Monday the A team played Killigrew in a league game. Despite the downpour and a very muddy pitch we did really well scoring very early on in the first half. The boys then managed to hold on to their lead until the last minute, when Killgrew had a shot which Luca parried away only for another Killgrew player to score from the rebound.
