Mini - Marathon

On Friday afternoon, in beautiful weather, the children took part in our annual Mini-Marathon to help raise money for charity and some school equipment.  The aim was to run or walk around the school as many times as they could to a maximum of 30 laps.  The children had lots of fun and put in lots of effort to acheive the very best they could.  We were all very proud of them.  All the children were presented with a medal for taking part and the top three girls and boys from each year group were given a special medal each.

Cross Country Meet London Colney

On Thursday our Cross Country Team took part in the first meet of the season at Colney Heath.  As usual there was a large field of over 100 boys and 100 girls in each race.  Our team did very well with 3 of the girls finishing in the top 26 runners. Everyone can feel proud of their individual  and team result.

Netball Club 2016 - Monday 3:30 - 4:15pm

Netball Club will start on Monday 12th September 2106

The club is open to Year 5 and 6 and I will run two teams - one will be a league team playing fixtures and when possible, another team will play a match as a friendly. I will try to arrange match play for all the children that attend regularly but some may not play as regularly as others.
Please be aware that the club may be cancelled if it is raining too heavily so I would ask that you check the Sports Blog and Twitter account if in any doubt.
Numbers will be limited so please only sign up if you are committed to attending this club regularly.

Space to Earth Mini- Tri Challenge

On Thursday 36 children from year 3, 4 and 5 went down to Westminster Lodge to take part in the Space to Earth Mini-Tri Challenge. The children swam for 20 metres, cycled or scootered twice round the running track, about 800 mtres and then ran 200 metres.  They all had an amazing time and really enjoyed the event, with a lovely medal for finishing.

District Sports

Over the last two weeks children have been competing in District Sports. The first day involved the field events; long jump, high jump and throwing and also the 4 x 100 year 6 relay.  The children did extremely well with Amy coming 2nd in the high jump and the boys' relay team geting through to the final. The second day was the track events for all year groups. It started off well with several children earninig a place in their finals. However, the weather was against us and due to the rain the event was called off before the finals could be run.  
I don't think there will be any follow up meet.
Well done to all the children who took part you can all be proud of yourselves.
