Cross Country Fleetville

On Thursday our cross country team went to Fleetville for the final meet in the Cross Country League.  It was a fast course with no major hills so the competition was tough.   As usual the team ran well with some good individual results.   We have yet to hear our overall final position in the league, but I will let you know later.
Throughout the season I have been very impressed with the runners and have seen great improvements in many of their results,  They can all be very proud of themselves and I hope they have enjoyed running for the school.  I look forward to next year with the year 5s who have run this year.
Thank you to the parents for helping with lifts and supporting the children in their running.
Mrs Astley

Football v Fleetville

In the B team's last league game of the season the boys were up against a tough Fleetville team.  As usual it was a close match which opportunities to score at both ends, although Fleetville probably had more chances and Dylan made a great save to keep the ball out of the net.   Eventually in the second half Fleetville managed to score and it looked like they would win the match. However our boys kept battling and were reward with a last minute goal to even up the score.  The final score was 1-1.
We will have to wait and see if that was enough to win our league, or whether Fleetville will be overall winners.
I think all the boys who have played in the B team can be proud of their performances over the year. They have only lost one game and in all the matches have shown great team spirit.
Thank you to all the parents who have supported the team, given lifts, washed kit and cheered from the side lines, I couldn't do it without you.  Mrs Astley

WELL DONE BOYS!!!

Football Match v Camp

On Thursday our B team played against Camp School in a league game.  Fantatisc playing by all the boys meant that we won the game 4-2, with Finlay scoring 2 goals. (Infact he scored 3, but the third was right on the final whistle so couldn't count!)

Swimming Gala

Well done to all the children who took part in the swimming gala at The High School. There was some fantastic swimming, including the four children who each swam 100m in their Individual Medlay races. It was a very exciting event and the children showed great team spirit cheering each other on.
As it was a friendly event no place results will be published, but all the children can be proud of their contribution to our swimming team.
Mrs Astley and Miss Honeybell.

Cross Country League

On Tuesday our Cross Country team took part in a league meet at St Columbas.  It was a tough course, twice round quite a hilly field.  All the children ran very well, with Joe 11th as our first boy and Jessie coming 22nd as our first girl.    Well done every one.

Netball Match v Abbey

On Tuesday our league team visited Abbey for the return match.
We played really well, increasing our lead in each quarter. The final whistle blew and Bernard's Heath won 6-1.Miss Brown mentioned that our GK Neve was solid in defence. At the end, Abbey chose Maddie Bye as Player of the Match and we chose their Goal Defence and WA. Unfortunately Tia Parsons injured her ankle and had to come off so we wish her a speedy recovery.
We have our final match on Tuesday the 10th March against Maple at their school.

Football match v Fleetville

On Tuesday the boys A team played against Fleetville in a league match.  Our matches against Fleetville are always close and this was no different.  Both teams started very strongly with chances at both ends.  Then Fleetville scored a fantastic goal so that at the end of the first half it was 1-0 to them.  I am very proud of the boys because they didn't give up, even when they had a goal disallowed.  Instead they continued to fight for every ball and were eventually rewarded with a goal to end the game in a draw 1-1.
