Herts Primary Cross Country Championships 2015

Last Saturday on a very cold, snowy, muddy afternoon 6 of our children took part in the Herts Primary Cross Country Championships.  In each race there was about 200 boys or girls running from schools across the district.  The course was quite a tough mile, running across the park, up a 'lovely' hill, back across the top before descending to the finish line.  I was really proud of the children who took part as it was a fantastic individual effort from all of the them.  In the boys race Joe came 41st, Max 87th and Charlie 108, whilst in the girls race Jessie came 40th, Emma 54th and Francesca 87th

Well done!

Boys football match v Camp

On Thursday our boys B team played against Camp in a league game.  The boys played really well and took the lead early on with a great goal from Kobi.  We continued to press for goals scoring 2 more, before Camp got 1 back.   In the 2nd half we were still strong scoring another 2 goals and Camp also scored another goal.  The final score was 5-2 to us, 4 goals to Kobi and Tio 1.    A great win boys.

Sainsbury's Games Sportshall Qualifiers

On Thursday 20 girls and boys from year 6 took part in a very exciting Sportshall qualifier with 6 other local schools.  First the children competed in field events including chest push, standing long jump, triple jump and speed bounce. They then moved on to the track events which consisted of different relay races.
Our team were amazing in the track events, winning many of the races and the children should be proud of their efforts.   We had to wait until Friday for the final results which were very close.  3 teams went through from our qualifiers but unfortunately although both the boys and girls teams came third in their groups, we were just pushed into 4th place overall by 4 points.

Despite this disappointment I think the children all had a really enjoyable time competing for the school.

Football Match v Killigrew

On Monday our boys football A team played Killigrew in the league.  As usual it was a very close game and we had a few chances on goal before Oscar tapped one in from a great corner.  Unfortunately Killigrew then equalised very quickly.  Jack then saved a penalty so that at half time it was still 1-1.   In the second half Killigrew scored to take the lead.  Despite our best efforts it looked like we were going to lose the game until the last minute when Joe managed to get one past their keeper to level the game at 2-2.  I was really proud of the boys team effort, they battled to the end and it paid off.
Thank you to Mr Burgess for refereering.
